The mama bird shoves the baby bird out of the nest and makes him fly. But, how do you date a man who won't leave his parents house? And mom takes care of her son. And dad is there too and it's one big happy family. So, you like this guy. How do you date him? He has to stand on his own two feet, right? Maybe not. Maybe, even this scenario, which has come to light a number of times by callers on my show. The guy has a nice apartment, has a great place to live in terms of furniture, everything is cool. Except he really lives with mom and dad until he has his girlfriend over. You're going to have a tough time fighting that one. Trust me. He has a comfort level that he is not going to be interested in leaving. Hey, mom does the grocery shopping, she cooks the meals, she keeps his room nice. It's home free. But, when he wants to see his girlfriend they can go to his place and then that's it. I'm not certain that unless this man really, really has a commitment for you that he's going anyplace. So how do you date a man that won't leave his parents home? You're going to have to ask that question yourself. Maybe you get to the point where you say, "Look, here's the bottom line. It's either me or it's living with your parents, but it can't be both." Sad story but that's the way it is. And don't be surprised if the answer is not the one you want to hear. This is Dr. Paul.
